Day 2 -- May 16, 1995
Tuesday morning, we got up real early and went white water river rafting on the Chatooga River. It was pretty cool! We went over class II, III, IV, & V falls. Unfortunately, we couldn't take any cameras on the raft with us so I don't have pictures. The heavy blue line shows approximately where the Chatooga River is located.
From the rafting company, we headed north and hit the Blue Ridge Parkway.
As we rode higher into the Blue Ridge Parkway, it got colder! What do you expect when your a mile high?
Here is just one of the many overlooks where we stopped.
This is the kind of natural wonders for which I look forward to finding on these trips.
We spent the night in a motel west of Asheville on the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are only three or four places like this along the parkway. The canyon leads down to Looking Glass Rock; you might be able to see it.
